Unit X

Floral was an aspect which was continuously shown in my practice designs, for unit x I aim to enhance this through focusing on colour, composition and detail, while still reinventing and creating my own interpretation of floral. I plan to further explore my concept by revisiting my previous drawings and photos, and generating new ideas and imagery, which will help me, develop and strengthen my collections allowing me to produce wallpaper that is at a finalised professional level. The techniques used will reflect back into my concept, allowing consumers to clearly understand and discover the beauty of nature for themselves.

My collection progression from my previous unit needed further enhancing. I developed 3 individual collections for my wallpaper prints, each with a specific concept, which reflects back into my designs and reveals the different styles I have been working with.

DELICATE NATURE: collection designed for high street and bespoke markets. For consumers after fresh and innovative designs, giving a traditional and contemporary look through original drawings and photographic imagery. My aim for the degree show is to show one length of wallpaper and a look book showcasing my designs for other areas of the interior market.

SOPSHISTICATED FLORALS

Monochromatic detailed drawings with a hint of subtle colour to bring the environment to life, creating calm and soothing atmospheres. Keeping original hand drawn style drawings to portray the delicacy and beauty of florals. Creating universal designed floral wallpaper for the residential home and also showcasing specific designs aimed for fabric interiors.

Indefinite nature brings in a blast of subtle and soft colours, enhancing the beauty of nature. A mixture of intricate detail and abstract styled drawings creating an unusual combination of florals, which is appealing to the eye. Creating designs for the high street market, based on all wallpaper designs for the home.

Bespoke digitalised wallpaper collection, capturing the beauty of florals through photographic images. Encapsulating precise detail, colour and form through photography, enhances natures attraction while generating invigorating 3-D style designs, which create an atmosphere and experience for consumer. Wallpapers are custom made to suit customer preferences, either mural or repeat patterned designs.
