Research and development

From my tutorial session, imagery and colour were main aspects that I needed to focus on and these were aspects that would create my collections. So i decided to gather new imagery for unit x, this will give me fresh ideas for my drawings and my bespoke photographic collection ideas. These images will work along side my photographs from practice unit allowing me to further develop my ideas and undermine what needs pushing.  The soft and subtleness of colours is still a key element within my designs as it sets a mood and will character to my designs.
My first and second collection, the colours are based on simplicity and neutral styles which will work alongside furnishing in the home and other elements, while my bespoke third collections, I have decided on bringing in bright and vibrant colours, which will bring character and life.

Expanding my research for my bespoke collection, I felt my initial idea of creating abstract photography didn’t portray the detailed and intricacy I planned in my concept. I came across Swedish designers Front, who created ‘flower wallpaper’ which was a part of the interior. The flowers were mounted on the wall and gave an illusion of three-dimensional wallpaper. Taking inspiration from this, I decided focusing on the precision of florals through the likes of photography; I would be able to conduct a series of flower sceneries where the perspective of colour, form and detail could be noticed.

Arrangement and composition would be an important aspect, as I am hoping the style I arrange the florals in will beautify florals and draw the consumers closer bringing in an atmosphere. Also giving a 3-D like element, with the advantage of keeping it for a long period of time.
