During the holidays, to begin I started to sketch and draw elements of nature. Figure 1 and 2 show my method of working. I prefer working small and intricately with black fineliner and pencil. Figure 2 was a successful drawing; the simple use of line creating something abstract but intricate is quite profound. I am able to create texture and different tones with the simple use of black. This style of working is something I want to continue within this project. It brings out an unusual style of nature, which my audience will be drawn to.

                       

 From a tutorial meeting, my tutor mentioned how I need to start adding colour and changing the scale of my work. This feedback allowed me to realise what my challenge was within this project, I have always struggled with my the scale of my work, however working in bigger scale will hopefully enable me to start looking at different methods of working which will be good for my experimentation process. To begin this challenge, I started further research into nature by visiting Fletcher Moss Park and nature that was around me. 

I am really drawn to the patterns in the trees and the different textures created. I want to be able to articulate this through my drawings and digital work.
