Design development

i have started to conducted some potential designs, however, constantly comparing mine to surface pattern designer such as louise tiler and laura olivia, i find that my designs are missing, such as the fluidity of the designs. I find my designs at this stage are quite blocky and need to connect to one another. This is something i am struggling with but i hope with a bit more practice i am able to further develop my patterns.
